You own your data. If you want it out of our systems, this page tells you exactly how to make that happen — the process, the timeline, and the small handful of things we're legally required to keep. No hoops. No retention games. No "please reconsider" pop-ups.
This page describes how to request deletion of the personal information Janitorial Smart Ops Inc. holds about you — whether you're a paying customer, a trial user, a client of a customer, a staff user invited by a customer, or someone who contacted us without signing up.
It is a companion to our Privacy Policy, which describes what we collect and why. If you haven't read that yet, it's a good place to start.
Depending on how you've interacted with us, we may hold some or all of the following:
Data deletion is irreversible. Before requesting deletion, consider exporting anything you might need later:
If you need a full archive we can generate one for you on request. Email dwilliams@janitorialsmartops.com with "export request" in the subject line.
To: dwilliams@janitorialsmartops.com
Subject: Data deletion request
Include: the email address associated with your account, the name of your business (if applicable), and a short note confirming you want your data deleted. If you're requesting deletion on behalf of someone who cannot email us themselves, please say so and we'll verify before acting.
You may also submit a request by mail to the address at the bottom of this page, or by phone at (825) 475-5264. We ask for email because it leaves a clear audit trail, which protects both of us.
Within 5 business days of receiving your request, we will confirm receipt by email. We may ask you to verify your identity — typically by replying from the email address on file or by answering a simple verification question. This is to prevent someone else from deleting your data without your permission.
Once verified, we will:
The entire process is completed within 30 days of your verified request, and typically within 5 business days.
There are a small number of things we are legally required to keep even after your deletion request. These are retained in a minimal, access-restricted form:
We will not keep anything else. If we find data we did not need to retain, we delete it.
If you were invited to the platform by a janitorial operator (as a staff member or client) rather than signing up yourself, some of your data belongs to that operator's business records. We will delete your personal information on request, but operational records (e.g. that "a staff member" completed a specific task at a specific time) may remain in the operator's account in anonymized form.
If you'd like your information removed from the operator's records as well, contact the operator directly — and if they won't cooperate, contact us and we can help mediate.
If you're unhappy with how we handled your deletion request, you can escalate to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta. We'd rather you email us first so we can try to fix it directly — but those escalation paths exist and we will not stand in your way.
