Chapter One — What we do

§ 01 / 06

"The trades did the job. The client sees the space. Everything in between is the post-construction clean — and the client judges the whole build on it."

Post-construction cleaning is the final phase before a walkthrough. It's specialized work — drywall dust gets into every crevice, adhesive residue on floors, paint splatter on windows, HVAC vents full of gypsum — and standard commercial cleaning doesn't touch it. We run dedicated post-con crews with the right equipment and chemistry for the job.

Small remodels (bathroom, kitchen, single room), whole-home renovations, commercial tenant improvements, new-construction move-in prep — we scale the crew and timeline to the project. Rough clean after drywall, final clean before fixtures go in, detail clean before the walkthrough. Book any phase or all three.

Booking 1–2 weeks ahead gets you the best availability; we accommodate rush projects in 24–48 hours when crews are available. Volume discounts on multi-phase projects and new-construction portfolios.

Chapter Two — What's included

§ 02 / 06

Six focus areas.
Walkthrough-ready.

Post-construction cleaning targets six areas that standard commercial cleaning skips. Each one is the difference between "looks finished" and "feels finished" — the detail your client notices before they notice anything else.

01

Dust removal

Every horizontal and vertical surface — walls, baseboards, trim, HVAC grilles, light fixtures, the tops of doors. Drywall dust, sawdust, construction fines, gone.

02

Floor care

Adhesive residue, paint splatter, construction debris, scuff removal. Final polish or first wax on new flooring.

03

Windows & glass

Interior and exterior windows, glass doors, partitions. Paint-scraping, sticker removal, streak-free final finish.

04

Fixtures & hardware

Cabinets, countertops, sinks, plumbing fixtures, door hardware, light switches — polish, shine, handprint-free.

05

Restrooms & kitchens

Full disinfection of the rooms with fixtures; grout cleaning, tile polish, appliance detail.

06

Debris removal

Light debris, packaging, labels, small scraps. For heavy debris or dumpster loads, we coordinate with waste removal — scope clarified before we start.

By the numbers

The clean that closes the job.

4–8Hours for a small project
3–5Days for a large commercial fit-out
24hRush bookings when crews available
$5MLiability coverage
The difference

The walkthrough, without the punch list.

Without us

  • "Construction clean" done by the trades themselves — skipped details
  • Dust in every HVAC vent — the client smells it on day one
  • Sticker residue on every window, appliance, and fixture
  • Paint splatter on baseboards, tile grout, and hardware
  • Punch list full of cleaning items that delays the handover

With Janitorial Smart Ops

  • Dedicated post-con crew with the right equipment for the job
  • HVAC grilles cleaned — the detail that decides air quality on day one
  • All stickers and residue removed before handover
  • Detail scraping and polishing on baseboards, grout, and hardware
  • Photo-verified walkthrough — punch list is done before the client sees it

Chapter Three — Phase & project type

§ 03 / 06

Three phases.
Book any or all.

Contractors typically book at one or more of three points in a build. We scale the crew and equipment to match the phase — not the other way around.

01

Rough clean

After drywall, before fixtures. Bulk dust and debris removal so the trades can finish without fighting construction fines.

02

Final clean

After fixtures, before walkthrough. Surfaces, floors, windows, fixtures — the handover-ready clean.

03

Detail clean

The last pass. Adhesive residue, sticker removal, polish, and the details the client notices first.

04

Residential renovations

Bathroom and kitchen remodels, whole-home renovations, basement finishes.

05

Commercial TIs

Tenant improvements, office build-outs, retail fit-ups.

06

New construction

Move-in prep for new-build homes, commercial buildings, and multi-unit projects.

Chapter Five — Contractor questions

§ 05 / 06

The questions that determine the schedule.

Scope, duration, debris, timing — the answers up front.

What is post-construction cleaning?

A specialized cleaning service performed after construction or renovation work is complete. Removes construction dust, debris, adhesive residue, paint splatters, and prepares the space to be move-in ready. Includes detailed cleaning of all surfaces, windows, floors, fixtures, and HVAC grilles.

How much does post-construction cleaning cost in Calgary?

Typically $0.25–$0.50 per square foot depending on scope and debris. Small renovations (under 1,000 sq ft) $300–$800; medium (1,000–3,000 sq ft) $800–$2,500; large sites (3,000+ sq ft) $2,500+.

How long does post-construction cleaning take?

4–8 hours for small projects, 1–2 days for medium renovations, 3–5 days for large sites. Timeline depends on square footage, debris volume, and phase count. We can expedite with larger crews for urgent deadlines.

Do you remove construction debris and materials?

Light construction debris, dust, and leftover materials like packaging and small scraps, yes. Heavy debris or dumpster loads coordinate with a waste-removal service. Scope is clarified in writing before service begins.

When should I schedule post-construction cleaning?

After all trades complete, but before final inspection, client walkthrough, or move-in. Book 1–2 weeks ahead for best availability; rush projects can be accommodated in 24–48 hours if crews are available.

Do you coordinate with general contractors?

Yes — most of our post-con work is referred by GCs. We coordinate with your PM on access, phasing, dumpster scheduling, and final walkthrough so the handover goes smoothly.
